navigating life with IBD

Hi, I’m Michelle, and I know exactly what it’s like to be brushed off, dismissed and told “it’s probably just IBS.”

IBD Hub isn’t a government organisation or corporate campaign, I am not a doctor or a medical professional, I don't have cure or a special secret to solve the IBD mystery, BUT I do have lived experience.

From sitting in waiting rooms, fighting for answers, and dealing with the mental and physical toll of a disease that no one wants to talk about.

What started as survival has become something bigger. I’ve turned my Ulcerative Colitis diagnosis into advocacy and awareness.

When someone finds IBD Hub, my goal is for them to exhale with relief and think, “Finally, someone who gets it.”

The community, resources, and advocacy create a space where talking about digestive drama isn’t just allowed but encouraged. It’s where the embarrassing becomes empowering, the clinical becomes conversational, and the isolating journey of IBD becomes a collective movement toward better understanding, faster diagnosis, and fuller lives

What is IBD Hub?

IBD Hub exists to transform the conversation around Inflammatory Bowel Disease from clinical and impersonal to vibrant and human. Shame gets kicked to the curb, and people with Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis feel seen and validated. In fact, IBD Hub isn’t a medical resource at all, it’s the certified sh*t-talking, stigma-breaking, no-filter voice that turns a scary diagnosis into a roadmap, isolation into a party, and merely surviving into absolutely thriving. Because if we’re honest, life with IBD is already hard enough without boring resources bringing us down.

The Ultimate IBD Handbook

The Ultimate IBD Handbook is a practical, compassionate guide for anyone living with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and those who support them. This book helps readers navigate diagnosis, treatment, daily life, and relationships. Whether you’re newly diagnosed or supporting someone with IBD, this book offers the clarity and encouragement to move from surviving to thriving.

The IBD community has needed a book like this for so long. It tackles the tough conversations, fights stigma, and encourages people to take charge of their health. It’s informative, yes but also empowering and uplifting.
Tom W.
I read this while going through one of my worst flares, and it was exactly what I needed. The advice on symptom management, the emotional rollercoaster, and how to talk to doctors—it felt like a survival guide. If you have IBD, you need this book.
Mark D.
This book does an excellent job of breaking down the science behind IBD in a way that’s easy to digest (pun intended) without dumbing it down. The sections on immune dysregulation and treatment innovations were particularly fascinating.
