Certified Sh*t Talker, Reporting for Duty
So, my story is already on the website
I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, and no one tells you that getting a chronic illness means entering a parallel universe.
In the beginning, I tried to be chill. I was the “it’s fine, I’m fine, everything’s fine” girl. Except it wasn’t. I was missing life, and slowly disappearing behind hospital curtains, diet changes, and bathroom doors. It was lonely. Like, weirdly lonely for something that happens to thousands of people.
That’s why I started IBD Hub. Not as a polished wellness brand, but as a place where real people could tell the truth about what it’s like to live with mysterious gut mayhem. A place where it’s okay to feel wrecked, angry, embarrassed, and still totally valid.
And that’s why it matters so much that we all share. Because no two experiences with this are the same. Some people get a diagnosis quickly, some get misdiagnosed for years. Some are in remission, some haven’t had a break in a decade.
Your story might be exactly what someone else needs to read.
So we’ve made it easy to share it.
Want to tell your story on IBD Hub?
We’re featuring real stories from people living with gut conditions, the ones that make you feel human, seen, and slightly horrified (in the best way). Think diagnosis, mishaps, awkward moments, relationships, body grief, and all the stuff no one talks about
Here’s what to include:
-
A short title
-
The raw truth (no need to edit yourself)
-
What you wish more people understood
-
A photo of you, if you’re comfortable sharing
-
Let us know if you'd like to stay anonymous
Send it all to support@ibdhub.com.au with the subject line Real Story Submission.
You don’t need to be a writer. You just need to be real!
We’ll take care of the rest.
